I wish I was a better photographer…

I'm too scared of cows – no way will I cross a field to get to a location if there's one in it. I struggle to get up early for dawn shoots. I fret about noises in the dark while I wait for the light. I always seem to be getting soaked, frozen, sunburnt … or scared off by a pesky cow.

I gaze wistfully at sunsets through the windows of my busy home thinking I should be Out There with my camera, but I never seem to have the time. I wish I had more time to get Out There with my camera.

But I am enthusiastic, and I love making pictures. I know about stuff, like depth of field and how it can make beaches and faces look good. I know about composition and the rule of thirds. I know about filters. Not sure about circles of confusion. And I've heard about bovine benignity.

So I will get better. And then, holy cowpat, I'll be brilliant.
